Hello! 9 days into 2019 and what have you been up to? How are you holding up to your New Year’s Resolution? Well for me, I haven’t thought about it yet because I’m still hungover from the holidays!
They say that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. And it sure is! Especially this year, I got to go back home in the Philippines and spend it with my family. There were so many things I got to do during my 2-week vacation in the Philippines and let me share some of the things that I got to do.
Get my Philippine and International Driving License
I used the opportunity while I was back in my country to be able to learn how to drive (manual car) and also get my license. A friend of my mom’s was willing to teach me so I woke up early for five days to practice in a wide area (where there are no people and cars) near our house. My mom also taught me some basics since she can also drive a manual car. After that, we went to the Land Transportation Office where I processed and got my license. I can now drive here in Japan too!
Travel to Dumaguete City
The day after I arrived in the Philippines, together with my mom, my dad and my brother, we went to Dumaguete to relax and unwind. This is kind of my Christmas gift to them. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights in a resort by the beach. I got to visit my university and meet my friends too!
Spend time with my family
Truly, there’s no place like home. It felt so good to be with my family. We eat breakfast, lunch and dinner together while telling stories and laughing over jokes, watch movies and have our own karaoke nights at home. We also got to meet our other family members and relatives to celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts with each other.
My family is the highlight of my vacation. I really had fun and I realized how much I missed them. These are the moments that I will treasure forever in my heart and I’m just so happy to be home. Now I’m back here in Japan, it is my mission to work hard and earn for them and I can”t wait to be with them again! Now let’s get back to work! 😀
P.S. – aside from my family, I would also like you to meet our pet. His name is Cookie. I get to play with him and walk him every night.
