Welcoming 2018 with full of Hope…
So, did you have a great New Year celebration?
Did you join the countdown? May it be with family or friends, at home or somewhere else, we will certainly celebrate New Year!

Jake and I spent a very simple but memorable New Year at Ms.
Eimy’s humble home. She prepared a special dinner for us and a yummy first breakfast of 2018 😋
彼女たちに、大晦日に何を食べたい？と
聞いたらスパゲッティというものだから
こんな洋風の大晦日になって
ワインで乾杯でした(笑)
朝ごはんも、他にお正月らしい
食べ物や、お雑煮は作ってあったのだけど
パンがいいと言うので、
なぜかオムレツーーー( ´∀｀ )
普段、仕事をしていて
彼女たちを外国人と
意識することはほとんどないのですが
こういう時は違いを
とても感じますね！
アハハ！
やっぱり、外国人( ´∀｀ )というか
フィリピン人でした！
そして少しですが
お年玉も渡してあげたら
とても喜んでいました！

We are so grateful for letting us celebrate the New Year with her…happy New Year, happy tummy indeed!
At exactly 12 midnight, I was able to have a quick video chat with my children with their nephew (cousin’s son). Thanks to the new technology, we can still be with our loved ones (through video calls) from a distance not to mention the effect of social media to us! We’re always updated with their whereabouts with the tons of pcitures they can send online.
Though I can’t hold them, I can actually feel them in my heart and it lessens my loneliness.

みんなで食べています！
面白ーーーーい！
Getting started with New Experiences
On the second day of the New Year, I took Jake to Nabana no Sato Winter Illumination.
I’ve been there 5 years ago and I just thought she shouldn’t miss it, it’s a once in a lifetime experience for me and will definitely for her too.
It was very crowded as expected but worth it as I may say.
Then, on the 4th day of the New Year, Ms. Eimy took us to Atsuta Shrine.
As we all know, Atsuta Shrine is the second most important temple (next to Ise Shrine) in Japan.
We may have different beliefs or religion but we do respect other’s beliefs, culture and tradition.
It was a great experience and learning for me and Jake about the rituals in visiting a temple.

We are all praying for another properous and fruitful year ahead and hoping all the best this 2018…in our social (relationships with family, friends and co-workers), career, health, spiritual and (even) love life.
This is all for now and let’s make the most of our remaining vacation.
We still have 2 days left to wrap up or continue our adventures or relaxation.
