どう思っているのか
なぜクリスマスを祝うかな？
なんて聞いてみました。
As we come to our last week of classes before the 3-week Winter Vacation, we’d like our students to have extra fun in their respective classes by making a video call with Santa Claus and asking them not only what would they want for Christmas but also what do they think about Christmas and why do we celebrate it.

Different thoughts from little but GREAT minds…
“Christmas is for kids that’s why we get gifts or presents”
クリスマスは子どものためにあるよ。だってプレゼントがもらえるから。
“Christmas is when a family eats CAKE together”
クリスマスは家族とケーキを食べる日だよ。
“Christmas is Party”
クリスマスはパーティってこと。
“Christmas is making Christmas Tree”
クリスマスはクリスマスツリーを飾ること。
“Christmas is when Santa Claus give gifts who had been nice this year”
良い子にしていたら、サンタクロースからプレゼントがもらえるよ。
and suddenly a second grade pupil said,
すると２年生の子が突然、
“Christmas is “kamisama’s” (God’s) birthday.”
クリスマスは神様の誕生日だよ！
The Greatest Time of the Year
日本はキリスト教国家ではないので
フィリピン人口の約90％が
キリスト教徒である私の国とは
（クリスマスが）かなり違います。
でも、私たちの信念や宗教が何であれ
この１年の苦労や挑戦にも
感謝することがたくさんありますよね。
It’s a fact that Japan is “not really” a Christian country, I mean unlike the Philippines which is about 90% of the population is Christian, but I think whatever our beliefs or religion may be, we do look back at all that happened this year and come to realize that there are many great things to be thankful for in spite of hardships and challenges that (I believe we surpassed) we encountered.
Let’s not forget that there is always hope.
