Hi there!
A few days ago, Eimy and I talked about making blogs.
She suggested why not write about simple English phrases that parents especially moms, can use to their kids.
I think it’s a great idea!
So, here I am ready to kick-start these series of blog posts.
Let’s call it…
“PUP Talk 1”
We all know that our first teachers are our parents.
They’ve taught us many things especially with our language and the way we speak.
When mom or dad says something, usually the child remembers and copies it. It is the same when the child learns a foreign language especially English.
When they hear their mom or dad use it, they are more likely to remember and learn too.
Here are some phrases for the week.
Let’s start with the common greetings.
Hello! / Hi!
“こんにちは”
いつでも、どこでも親しみをこめて、
笑顔で言ってみよう
- Parents can use this whenever they see their child or even greet other people.
- Of course, do it with a smile. 🙂
Good morning!
Good afternoon!
Good evening!
“おはよう” “こんにちは” “こんばんは”
もちろん知っていても、
あまり使う機会が
ないかもしれません。
ですから、
どんどん使ってみましょう
- I know here in Japan it’s quite difficult to use these greetings especially outside the house.
- But, there won’t be any problem practicing inside your own house, right?
- When your kids wake up, you can tell them a simple “Good morning!“;
- When they get home from school, you can say “Good afternoon!” then ask what happened at school; or when you get home from work, you can tell your family “Good evening!”
We’ll end it here for now.
For our dear readers, even not parents, try doing this.
It’ll surely make a difference.
See you on my next PUP Talk!
Cheers!
