Who likes cooking?
お料理が好きなのは誰？
Well, I’m pretty sure that many of the moms do; and some of the dads too, of course.
If you ask me, I prefer eating than cooking so…good luck to my future husband.
多くのママたちと多くはないけれど、パパたちもお料理が好きですよね。
わたしは、食べる方が好き！
Today we will talk about some phrases and sentences that you can use while preparing and cooking in your kitchen.
Are you ready?
Let’s start.
今日は、クッキングの準備、クッキング中のフレーズ練習です。
What ( meat / vegetable / spice ) is this?
この肉は、何？
When you are not in a rush and have an ample time for cooking, it’s good to lay out all your ingredients first and ask your child to identify each item.
It’s like having a cooking show and an English class at the same time
時間に余裕があったら、
まずは、クッキングの材料を
全部、広げて
それぞれについて、
子どもに、聞いてみましょう。
まるで、英会話クッキングの番組みたいに。
子どもが喜ぶこと、間違いなしです！
Can you peel / stir / wash this please?
Sometimes kids would really want to try and help so it’s nice if you could ask them to do simple actions like to stir the soup or to peel the onion and etc.
You can also be more specific by saying;
“Can you wash the lettuce please?” and allow them to remember which one is the lettuce.
子どもたちは、お手伝いしたがりますよね。
スープをかき混ぜたり、
皮をむいたりなど、簡単にできることは
手伝ってもらいましょう。
こんな風に言ってみましょう。
“Can you wash the lettuce please?”
”レタスを洗ってくれる？”

手伝ってくれてありがとう！
Who wouldn’t be glad to hear this?
Kids, especially, feel very happy when their parents thank them so please don’t ever forget to say this.
You can also give them a candy or a treat if they did an excellent job.
Cooking is a fun and practical learning activity for children.
It can be a great bonding time for you and your kids.
If you incorporate English, that would make it even better.
